Confirmation – A special year of learning is designed for 10th graders at the end of their formal religious education. Held in the homes of participants, the classes are done in an informal way focusing on discussion and personal connection to the concepts. Students cover 3 themes – Torah, Gemilut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness), and Avodah (service). The goal of the program is to foster a mature connection to these concepts in preparation for the adult life. Past experiences included visits to LifeNet, volunteering with community clean-up efforts, and text study. The program finishes with the Confirmation dinner and ceremony, held on or around Shavuot.
