The Beth El Sisterhood is comprised of talented and gifted women of all ages who play an integral part in our synagogue life.
Throughout the year, the Sisterhood contributes to or are solely responsible for the weekly Kiddush on Shabbat, the publishing and printing of the yearly Chronicle (directory of all members), running and maintaining the gift shop, the Floral Fund which provides flowers on the Bimah for all the high holidays, caring for and maintaining Beth El’s silver closet, and the annual garage/rummage sale. We cater B’nai Mitzvah and baby naming meals, Meals of Consolation, and lifestyle events, raise money for the Torah Fund which provides education for conservative clergy, provide scholarship money for Camp Ramah, have an annual Paid-Up Membership dinner, periodic Women About Women educational programs, and help sponsor and/or cook for numerous other programs throughout the year.
Our Beth El Sisterhood is affiliated with the Women’s League of Conservative Judaism. The mission of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism is to strengthen and unite synagogue women’s groups and their members, support them in mutual efforts to understand and perpetuate Conservative Judaism in the home, synagogue, and community and to reinforce their bonds with Israel and Jews worldwide.
We want to work with all members to introduce some new and exciting programs to include women of all ages. We want to create a place where all women can come together and make new friendships, have fun and feel comfortable while enjoying a new comradeship. Please join us in our commitment.
